Zonta Club of New York Scholarships

To actively empower young women and girls, Zonta Club of New York is pleased to offer a variety of scholarships to enrolled students. For more information about the scholarships available from the Club level and the requirements to apply, please view the options below and download the application form.

Young Women in
Public Affairs Award

Established in 1990, 10 international awards of $4000 each and up to 32 district awards of $1,000 each are awarded annually to young women aged 16 to 19 who demonstrate commitment to the volunteer sector through volunteer leadership achievements and a dedication to empowering women worldwide. The first step is to apply at the Zonta Club of New York level, where students are eligible for an award amount of $500. Download the application form here.

Application deadline is March 1 yearly.

Scholarship applicants can send a completed application form or direct questions to the Scholarship Committee, Zonta Club of New York at: secretary@zontaclubnyc.org and president@zontaclubnyc.org.

Jane M. Klausman
Women in Business Scholarship

From a bequest given by Jane M. Klausman, a Zontian, 12 international scholarships of $7000, and up to 32 district scholarships of $1,000, are awarded annually to women pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in business or a business-related field. The first step is to apply at the Zonta Club of New York level, where students are eligible for an award amount of $500. Download the application form here.

Application deadline is May 1 yearly.

Zonta District and Zonta International Level Scholarships

In addition, there is an opportunity for students to be eligible for other awards or scholarships, which are offered only at the Zonta District or International levels.

 

Amelia Earhart Fellowship

Created in honor of famed aviator and Zontian, Amelia Earhart, 35 fellowships of $10,000 each are awarded annually to women pursuing PhD/Doctoral degrees in aerospace-related sciences or aerospace-related engineering.

Women in STEM Scholarship

Zonta encourages women to pursue education, career opportunities and leadership roles in technology in a new pilot program introduced in 2019.
